|
The purpose of this study is to investigate the major determinants influencing on health promotion behaviors(HPB) of the vulnerable elderly. This study examined the interrelation between health promotion behaviors and their correlated factors, perceived health status, self-efficacy, depression, and social support among the vulnerable elderly. The subjects of this study consisted of 199 Korean vulnerable elderly over 65years. For the analysis of data, descriptive statistics and hierarchical regression were used for the statistical analysis with SPSS program. The results are as follows: 1) The mean score of the HPB was 83.58(SD=13.19). 2) Hierarchical regression analysis found that ModelⅢ accounted for 43.9% of the variance in HPB. 3) The Major determinants on HPB among the vulnerable elderly are social support and self-efficacy. This study shows that strategies of vulnerable elderly care intervention to put in practice social support and self-efficacy is needed to improve HPB in vulnerable elderly.
